On behalf of the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) you are cordially invited to Stockholm May 8-9, 2009 for an exciting conference on Oxygen and Infection.
The Conference will
* review the role of oxygen in infections from basic science to daily clinical practice
* discuss a platform for a future consensus meeting
* have panel discussions on challenging topics
- supplemental oxygen to prevent surgical site infections in e.g. colorectal surgery
- adjunctive hyperbaric oxygen for necrotizing fasciitis
The format of the conference, including social activities, provides an opportunity to meet experts and make new friends for future cooperation, development and research.
The 5th Karolinska Postgraduate Course in Clinical Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy will precede the conference on May 7, 2009. It will provide an excellent opportunity to obtain front-line knowledge, with focus on evidence-based clinical practice, from leading authorities and principal investigators in the field of Hyperbaric Medicine.
